Join Our Department
If you have a heart for service and the desire to be a part of something bigger than yourself, we are looking for you! There are so many ways to become involved with MCFD. If you are already a career firefighter, you can laterally join our team. Those with little to no firefighting experience, you may be interested in joining our annual and semi-annual recruit class.
No previous experience is required to join our annual recruit class. Our training program is 100% free of charge to you. We help you obtain the skills, certifications, and state-level requirements to become a firefighter.

**Applications are accepted year-round; however, only one recruit class is held annually, which begins in October and concludes in March. Applicants will be contacted in August or September with dates for a physical agility test, general knowledge written test, and interview.
